Carpenters' Hall can be rented for events by corporate and non-profit groups. Please read the following information carefully. Call us at 215-925-0167 or email us for more information.

Catering

Award winning Restaurant Associates is the preferred caterer for Carpenter' Hall. Contact Jan DeMarzo at 215.670.2365.

Availability of the Hall

Monday: all day
Tuesday-Sunday: after 4:00 P.M. (Tuesday all day during January/February)
All Equipment may be delivered after 10:00 A.M., no staff will have access to the first floor for set-up until 4:00 P.M.

Carpenters' Hall is open to the public from 10 A.M. to 4 P.M., Tuesday through Sunday and, therefore, cannot be rented during those hours. It is closed to the public on Tuesdays, as well, during the months of January and February. If it is necessary for the caterer to set up before contract time, this can be arranged with the Administrator, but shall not interfere with visitors to the Hall.

Capacity

Cocktail, or other stand-up receptions, 125 people maximum. Dinner, or other seated affair, 83 people maximum.

Rental Fee

$ 2,500 Rental fee is for a four hour period, minimum (not including set-up and takedown time). Time period may be extended with special permission of the Managing Committee at a cost $ 500/hour.

A $1,250 deposit must be returned promptly with the signed rental agreement. The balance is due ten (10) business days before the event. The event will not take place if payment is not in hand.

The following equipment is available for use:

  • 100 padded wooden folding chairs
  • 9 60" round catering tables
  • 2 6' bar tables (2/30" wide, 2/18" wide)
  • 1 8' bar table
  • 2 30" round cocktail tables — pedestal base
  • Two metal coat racks with hangers
  • One speaker's podium (mahogany)

Party Equipment Rental

All linens, silver, glasses, and other accessories shall be provided by the Customer or caterer.

Restrictions

  • No propane allowed on site
  • No private parties (weddings, birthdays, etc.)
  • No candlelight, or open flame of any sort
  • No smoking
  • No dancing

Bar facilities may be set up on the first floor only. All trash must be removed from the premises. Delivery of rental equipment must take place on the day of the rental with pickups on the following morning. No equipment will be stored in the Hall for longer than one day after the party without the permission of the Administrator. A representative of the COMPANY shall be in attendance and shall open and close the building.

Arrangements should be made with the Administrator for deliveries and/or storage of items in connection with the meeting, reception or dinner.

The customer shall furnish to the Company a guest attendance count no later than five (5) days prior to the Event Date.

Customer shall obtain and maintain for Customer and anyone who is providing a service for the event comprehensive general liability insurance, including contractual liability insurance with a minimum combined single limit for personal injury (including death) and property damage of $1,000,000 for any occurrence, statutory limits for worker's compensation coverage, $500,000 liquor liability, and $1,000,000 business automobile liability, all in for satisfactory to the Company. Customer shall, no less than thirty (30) days prior to the Event Date, provide Company with certificates of insurance as aforementioned. All insurance shall name the Company as additional insured with primary coverage.

All vendors engaged by the Customer, including, but not limited to, caterers, decorators, party planners and valet parking companies are subject to prior approval by the Company. As outlined in License Agreement for Facilities Rental the caterers must carry the necessary insurance and if not on file, submit a Certificate of Insurance to the Company one week prior to the day of the event. No propane is allowed on site.

Note: The Hall is not yet wheelchair accessible, and toilet facilities are limited to the second floor, reachable only by stair.

Event will be cancelled unless all appropriate insurance certificates have been provided prior to the day of the event. All rentals subject to the approval of the Managing Committee of The Carpenters' Company of the City and County of Philadelphia.
